Malaysia Stamps - Penang Free School Bicentenary - October 21, 2016 Issue

An awesome issue as these stamps commemorate the 200th Anniversary of my secondary school alma mater Penang Free School, the oldest English school in Southeast Asia started in 1816. There was a 150th Anniversary issue by Pos Malaysia too back in 1966. I went to Penang Free School to get this special cancellation as well as the Penang Free School chop and the special cover and cancellation by Penang Philatelic Society in conjunction with this issue and the 3 days Stamp Exhibition and Fair show Oct 21-23, 2016 at the Star Pitt Street, Penang showing Dr Wu Lien Teh, a famous son of Penang Free School.

Malaysia Stamps - Postmen Community - World Post Day - October 9, 2016 Issue

I created these First Day Covers at Sungai Petani Post Office, Kedah and George Town General Post Office, Penang Island. In Kedah, the post offices are open on Sundays and hence this new stamp issue went on sale on October 9, 2016. In Penang, the post offices are closed on Sundays and hence the sale of the stamps starts on October 10, 2016 Monday.

Malaysia Stamps - International Definitive Stamps 2016 - October 1, 2016 Issue

It is the first time that Malaysia has issued International Stamps that is for mailing for overseas and will be sold to the public without Government Service Tax. It cannot be used for domestic mailing. Other stamps used for domestic mailing will be subject to Government Service Tax as of October 1, 2016.

I created these First Day Covers at Sungai Petanin Post Office in Kedah and George Town General Post Office in Penang. As there was a public holiday, these stamps went on sale on Monday October 3, 2016 in Kedah and on Tuesday October 4, 2016 in Penang.
